In the legislature, he introduced a bill drafted by the mining industry to dig a huge, destructive open pit mine near Lake Superior in the beloved Penokee Hills – a critical ecosystem for wildlife and the source of the waterfalls at Copper Falls State Park.
In return, mining interests lined his pockets with $75,000. If elected Governor, he would hand out-of-state corporate interests the same free pass and leave Wiscosinites paying for it in lost land, polluted water, and a degraded outdoor recreation economy.

He has a clear record of selling out his constituents and Wisconsin to the highest bidder. Local communities are fighting back against Big Tech as they descend on Wisconsin to build hyperscale data centers under the cover of secretive non-disclosure agreements (NDAs). Those communities have the right to protect their people, land, air, water, and finances against corporate greed. But, as a state legislator, Tom Tiffany authored bills that prevent local communities from protecting themselves from corporate polluters. In Congress, he voted for bills that would ease environmental regulations to fast track data center development and ban states from regulating AI. Now, he’s taking data center lobbyist and developer campaign contributions.

When he was a state legislator Tiffany slashed funding from the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and led the charge to fire state scientists. Instead of serving his constituents, Tiffany chose to serve his wealthy donors by shielding out-of-state polluters from the law and sacrificing your wellbeing for their profits. Despite making his living thanks to this program, Tiffany voted to defund it when he was in the state legislature. Since 1989, this gold standard conservation program has helped create and enhance parks, natural areas, trails, and open spaces across the state. Sadly, the Republican-controlled legislature let it expire earlier this year. He didn’t support it in the state legislature and you can’t trust Tom Tiffany to reauthorize this program as Governor. He is a major reason your energy bills are soaring. Clean energy sources like solar and wind are the cheapest fastest path to lower monthly electric bills. Yet, Tiffany repeatedly votes to destroy clean energy projects and jobs.
Instead of protecting your budget and community health, he prioritizes his utility, oil, and gas corporate polluter donors. These companies rake in massive profits by keeping aging, expensive coal plants open, constructing costly new gas plants, and aggressively recruiting energy-hungry AI data centers to Wisconsin.
At every turn, Tom Tiffany puts corporate utility profits ahead of lower bills for your family. He cares more about lining the pockets of his corporate utility donors than he does about keeping your bills low and your communities. healthy.

Tiffany voted for extreme tax policies and ridiculous tariffs that keep jacking up your prices on the things you buy every single day then calls affordability “a buzzword.” He is one of the very least effective members of Congress – missing more votes than any other member of Wisconsin’s congressional delegation. He passed only one bill and that was to name a post office.
He supported Elon Musks’ DOGE. He supported the Iran War that’s keeping gas prices sky high, and he supports Trump’s tariffs that are only intensifying the cost of living and damaging our national reputation across the globe.

After the 2020 election, he actively tried to silence his own constituents by supporting a legal brief to overturn Wisconsin's electoral votes. Just days after the January 6 attack on our nation’s Capitol, he supported the insurrectionists and appeared at a rally with a radio show host who has openly called for war.
