Regulating data centers: David Crowley is stepping up to ensure Wisconsin's future is powered fairly and transparently. As data centers expand across the state, David is taking a firm, proactive stand to protect local communities, safeguard our natural resources, and champion our local economies.
He will stand up to Big Tech and put regulations in place to protect Wisconsin communities and our environment from the impacts of data centers. He’ll require that data centers pay their full share in energy and water costs so Wisconsinites' utility bills aren’t subsidizing billion and trillion dollar corporations. He won’t let local communities get hoodwinked – by requiring transparency and banning non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) that hide the true impacts on local communities. He won’t let dirty, expensive gas power plants be built to supply data centers immense electricity needs, he’ll require that they “Bring Their Own Clean Energy” and are powered by 100 percent cheap, fast, clean energy sources like wind and solar. We can trust David Crowley to stand up to greedy Big Tech, electric utilities, and data center developers to protect local Wisconsin communities.
Deliver affordability: David Crowley knows hard work isn’t always enough to pay the bills. Affordability isn’t a buzzword to him, it’s something he will work hard every day to deliver for all Wisconsinites. He’ll push back on corporate electric utilities who keep demanding rate hike after rate hike, making your bills more and more expensive. He won’t allow corporations and billionaires to get tax cuts and handouts while you’re working hard to keep up with basic needs. He’ll fight every day to make sure other families don’t have to experience the same things he’s faced.
Keeping energy costs low: Electric bills are skyrocketing for Wisconsinites. We can keep our electric bills low by building more clean energy like wind and solar, which are cleaner, cheaper, and faster to build. David Crowley will stand up to greedy corporate electric utilities who want to maximize profit and jack up your electric bills by building more dirty, expensive gas power plants. As county executive, David Crowley has already reduced Milwaukee County’s carbon emissions by 50 percent and helped people make their homes more energy efficient. David will commit to Wisconsin 100 percent clean energy by 2050 so we can lower our energy bills, create good paying jobs, and ensure we have a healthy environment for future generations.
Holding corporations accountable: For too long, corporations and billionaires have not paid their full share and not been held accountable to the law. When they pollute our land, air, and water, they’ll be held responsible and will pay the full cost for clean up. These companies have amassed record profits while working Wisconsinites struggle to pay their bills. He’ll make sure Wisconsinites aren’t subsidizing corporate polluters and billionaires and that they pay their full share.
County Executive David Crowley for Governor
Growing up, David Crowley didn’t have it easy. He experienced firsthand many of the same struggles Wisconsinites across the state face today. He knows what it’s like to work hard yet still have difficulty keeping up with the rising costs of rent, groceries, health care, and utility bills.
Those experiences shaped his approach to leadership. He started as a community organizer before being elected to the state Assembly to serve his community. At 33, he was elected county executive of Wisconsin’s largest county. Now in his second term as Milwaukee County executive, he continues to deliver real results for the people he represents. As a husband and father of three, he knows times are tough for so many. He’s running for governor so all Wisconsin families have what they need to not only survive, but to thrive:
